UNCOMMON TIPS FOR RAPID FAT LOSS

Build Muscle to Burn Fat

Have you ever heard that bold statement that claim that muscle tissue is metabolically active and therefore burns more fat while you sleep, convincing you that if you want to lose weight than you have to build muscle? If you examine the numbers a bit deeper you will be amazed to find out this is just half of the whole story. According to the latest studies, a pounds of muscle burns 5-6 calories a day while a pound of fat burns 3-4 calories a day. When you crunch those numbers together, you can discover that if, for instance, you lost 10 pounds of fat (a considerable amount on its on account), and you gained 5 pounds of muscle (which again, is quite impressive anyway), than you would have burned an extra 20 calories a day. This equals roughly a tea spoon of sugar or 1/4 of an apple.

You have to ask yourself how this little fact was blown out of proportions and whether you are going to focus your efforts on building muscle for that reason. After all, in one session you could easily burn 30 times more than that. This subject is especially relevant to women who are trying to lose fat while keeping a toned feminine shape without too much muscle. If you're not trying to look like the equivalent of an Olympic lifter, I would strongly suggest to build muscle specifically where you want to, in order to build muscle. When it comes to fat burning, focus on fat burning rather than on building muscle.
