Protein and Fibre
There has been a lot of research done on how increased intake of protein
and fibre can boost one metabolism. Not only prote
in takes more "energy" to digest, making it a preferred food as we can store less
calories from it, it also helps us repair the different tissues (made of protein) damaged during exercise.
Fibre on it own can reduce gastric emptying allowing us to fill fuller for longer. On top of it, fibre allows
us to decrease our level of the bad cholesterol (LDL) in our blood which works to our benefit when
trying to become healthier and lose excess weight.
The current research points the benefit of taking roughly 20-30 grams of protein,
along with 3-5 grams of fibre, within the 1st half an hour after waking up. It's is not known exactly why
but test group have shown increased metabolism and energy burning when following that routine. Try it yourself
